The mission of Bailey-Boushay House provides exceptional care to people with HIV/AIDS promoting their health, well-being and functional independence. Bailey-Boushay House (BBH) was the first skilled nursing facility in the United States that was planned, funded, built and staffed to meet the needs of people living with AIDS. Over the years, BBH has expanded our outreach to include others in need of critical care, offering a broad range of services and programs. The Adult Day Health Program promotes independent living, provides quality health care and socialization and offers support to partners and family caregivers. The Residential Nursing Facility includes 35 private rooms, looks and feels like a home, but functions as a nursing facility. Bailey-Boushay House works to address the needs of the entire individual, not just the diagnoses. Clients are from a wide range of social and ethnic backgrounds, with a range of life experiences. We are part of the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) system and Common Spirit.
