The University of Washington defines sustainability as the capacity and commitment to create and maintain healthy, equitable and diverse communities now and into the future. Sustainability is a core part of the University of Washington Bothell and has been since our founding. As campus expands, we remain committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The Office of Sustainability advances our vision by:
- Promoting sustainability on campus and throughout the community;
- Connecting students, staff, faculty and other stakeholders to the resources needed to implement sustainability solutions;
- Engaging students and the campus community in sustainability activities taking place on campus and in our surrounding community; and
- Monitoring our progress by participating in the AASHE Sustainability Tracking and Assessment Rating System.
