About
At Sariwa Farm , we practice bayanihan, a kinship network that is non-extractive and non-exploitive, our ancestral antidote to capitalism. We are focused on limiting our carbon footprint and retaining our cultural heritage. Both of which were inherently connected in our pre-colonial way of life.
In farming, we keep in mind biodiversity, sustainability, natural plant nutrition, and natural pest management. This means utilizing methods that will cause the least amount of disruption, minimal tilling to preserve the diversity of organisms within the soil, avoiding chemical fertilizers that will endanger beneficial insects, with deep considerations of timing, seed source, and crop rotation for planting. This results in more nutrient dense foods. We plant seeds to feed the community nutrient dense foods that are culturally relevant and pesticide free.
